Release notes for A set of VA-API based elements for GStreamer 1.11.91

The GStreamer team is pleased to announce the second release candidate of the stable 1.12 release series. The 1.12 release series is adding new features on top of the 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8 and 1.10 series and is part of the API and ABI-stable 1.x release series of the GStreamer multimedia framework.

Full release notes will be provided with the 1.12.0 release, highlighting all the new features, bugfixes, performance optimizations and other important changes.

Binaries for Android, iOS, Mac OS X and Windows will be provided in the next days.

Bugs fixed in this release

  • 773689 : wayland: rt for event queue when destroy
  • 774029 : vaapiwindow: wayland: fix surface leaks.
  • 775848 : plugins: enable direct rendering through environment variable
  • 780442 : vaapi: wayland: multiple sinks blocks the pipeline
  • 781142 : Seeking can be slow due to surface recreation
  • 781573 : vaapidecodebin: fails to restart playback
  • 781577 : Fails to play specific size theora files (vaapisink bufferpool issue)
  • 781695 : vaapi: leak of vpp surface in GstVaapiWindowWayland
  • 781759 : visualizations fail with vaapi
