Release notes for A set of VA-API based elements for GStreamer 1.11.90

The GStreamer team is pleased to announce the first release candidate of the stable 1.12 release series. The 1.12 release series is adding new features on top of the 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8 and 1.10 series and is part of the API and ABI-stable 1.x release series of the GStreamer multimedia framework.

Full release notes will be provided with the 1.12.0 release, highlighting all the new features, bugfixes, performance optimizations and other important changes.

Binaries for Android, iOS, Mac OS X and Windows will be provided in the next days.

Bugs fixed in this release

  • 771291 : Encoder: HEVC: Add 10 bit encoding support
  • 772838 : vaapi: clutter on wayland: GLTextureUpload negotiated but not available
  • 778676 : vaapijpegenc does not work together with videotestsrc
  • 778750 : For vaapih264enc without h264parse, using the adaptive 8x8 DCT encoding tool breaks 720p 30 fps clips
  • 778781 : vaapiencode: merge tags for downstream's info
  • 779120 : vaapiencoder: miscellaneous potential bug
  • 779400 : vaapi: wayland window: more cases of using vpp
  • 780302 : Build failures when Gstreamer is built with --disable-gst-debug
  • 780620 : h264 encoding: artifacts in encoded stream
