MMS protocol support
Background
MMS is a protocol created by Microsoft for their Windows Media streaming. While officially Microsoft is migrating to RTSP the majority of current internet radio streams using WMA and WMV are MMS.
There is some prelimenary MMS support in GStreamer through libmms, but this library is unmaintained and highly incomplete. This project would either create a new MMS plugin or fix up the current plugin+library.

libmms bugs have been worked on by Hans de Goede, so claiming it's unmaintained is wrong, especially as only a few bugs seem to be remaining. A list of actual bug fixing tasks would be better, and even then, I don't think it would qualify for the SoC as it would only take a portion of the allocated time. (BastienNocera)
