GStreamer Conference 2012

The GStreamer Conference 2012 is now over, but we are assembling the slides from the speakers on this page. We also recorded the talks and they will soon be available for viewing at gstconf.ubicast.tv.

We are back for a third year of the GStreamer Conference, and this year we are taking the GStreamer Conference to the United States and San Diego. This year we will be co-hosting with the LinuxCon North America, the Linux Plumbers Conference and the Linux Kernel Summit. The event will be held at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina.

Schedule and speakers list

The full conference schedule is now available. We hope you will be as excited about this years schedule as we are. In addition to of course many in-depth GStreamer talks we also have presentations on some of the most important core Linux multimedia technologies like ALSA, Mesa, Wayland, the Opus Codec and V4L. We have managed to get some of the leading developers from the world of open source multimedia come to speak this year, so this is definetly an event you should not be missing out on.

Registration

You can now register for the GStreamer Conference. We offer separate registration options for both professionals and for students and hobbyists. There is also an early bird reduced fee charged if you register before June 15th.

Student/hobbyist 100 USD

For those uncertain about registrering as a professional or hobbyist the general rule is that if your company pays your are a professional and if you personally pay you are a student or hobbyist.

Who Should Join?

Anyone interested in open source multimedia is encouraged to join us at the GStreamer Conference 2012. If you are a hobbyist or a student interested in the field of multimedia, or working for a company using or looking to use GStreamer in their products, then this is the perfect event for you to network at and learn more about the latest technological breakthroughs in and around GStreamer. The talks will target both developers and managers alike.

Update: The Sheraton is full

Since the Sheraton is now ful we have booked another block of rooms at the Hilton San Diego Airport/Harbor Island, located .7 miles from the Sheraton. The room rate is US$179/night and includes wireless internet as well as complimentary shuttle service to/from the Sheraton each day.

The GStreamer Conference is being held in San Diego, California from August 27 – August 28 in the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. GStreamer Conference attendees can avail themselves of rooms at a Linux Foundation discounted booking rate of US $170 a night (plus taxes) at this hotel. We encourage you to stay on-site to take full advantage of the conference. Please note that rooms in our reserved block will include internet in guest rooms at no additional cost. Be aware that with LinuxCon in the same hotel in the days following, the rooms in this discounted block will go fast.
