News - GStreamer Core and Plugins 1.6.3 stable release
The GStreamer team is proud to announce the second bugfix release in the stable
1.6 release series of your favourite cross-platform multimedia framework!
This release only contains bugfixes and it is safe to update from 1.6.x. For a
full list of bugfixes see Bugzilla.

Binaries for Android, iOS, Mac OS X and Windows will be provided separately by the GStreamer project.

What is GStreamer?
GStreamer is a library for constructing graphs of
media-handling components. The applications it supports range from simple
Ogg/Vorbis playback, audio/video streaming to complex audio (mixing) and video
(non-linear editing) processing.
Applications can take advantage of advances in codec and filter technology
transparently. Developers can add new codecs and filters by writing a
simple plugin with a clean, generic interface.

GStreamer is released under the LGPL. The 1.x series is API and ABI stable
and supersedes the previous stable 0.10 series. Both can be installed in
